Abolish the executive presidency and appoint a non-executive president by 2025.
Why this status: Not delivered by the pledged 2025 deadline. The Government stated in December 2025 that abolition of the executive presidency would be undertaken through the future new-constitution process, while the Presidential Secretariat currently identifies the officeholder as Sri Lanka's Executive President. The constitutional change has not occurred.
